Isla Margarita is the largest island in the state of Nueva Esparta in Venezuela, located in the Caribbean Sea, on the coast to the north-east of the country. The State contains two other small islands: Coche and Cubagua. The three islands together are known as The Pearl of the Caribbean. The main industries are tourism, fishing and construction. The population of the State is of approximately 440,000 inhabitants.
